2019 problems: The majority of waste that pours into the ocean every year comes from single-use plastic packaging. We've made the decision to eliminate single-use plastic from our supply chain _
FOR THE OCEAN
Nylon, spandex, polyester and all synthetic products are made from new plastics. The scraps from production are thrown away and then further contribute to our plastic waste problems. We're now creating pieces that help reduce waste.
All future collections will be made from a high quality upcycled nylon/spandex blend. We are working with fabric manufacturers who rescue, purify and regenerate Nylon from fishnets, industrial plastic and fabric scraps. The fabric is supreme in quality and helps reduce our waste problems.
Step 1: Rescue
The process starts by rescuing waste like plastic bottle, fish nets from sea and scrap fabric.
Step 2: Regenerate
The material is then purified and regenerated to the exact same form as virgin nylon.
Step 3: Remake
It is then processed into yarn and turned into fabric.
Step 4: Reimagine
We then reimagine swimwear designs and create our products for you.

We’re committing to remove all single-use plastics from our supply chain (by 2020). All new packaging will be designed to be multipurpose.
We have banned single-use plastic from the workplace.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE NOW
Research shows that one truckload of garbage is released into the ocean every minute. The ocean needs a global effort to be cleaned:
This coming year (2019), we’re making it our mission to donate at least $50,000 towards cleaning the ocean and supporting other environmental protection activities.
FOR THE AIR
The majority of factories do not operate from a source of renewable energy, meaning that their energy sources create carbon emissions. This is the commonly agreed cause of climate change.
We are working to find a viable solution to offset our carbon footprint by either donating toward planting trees or donating to make solar energy viable for our factories where possible.

We believe that profit shouldn't come at the expense of human dignity, that is why we insist on working with factories that follow the highest ethical standards. Here's what we're doing about it:
All factories must follow the Anna Code of Conduct. You can view the Anna Code of Conduct below.
We will conduct unscheduled inspections of our manufacturers to ensure that their treatment of staff is ethically correct and their waste is managed properly. We will provide all of the small details in our annual report.
We will be transparent with all information regarding our factories. We will include business information and photos of the working environment in our annual report.
THE ANNA CODE OF CONDUCT
All contractors and external factories must operate to the standards of the Anna code of conduct. If factories cannot meet these standards then they will be deemed unfit to handle business from Anna Swimwear.
Fair Remuneration: All staff must be paid fair salaries according to government laws and regulations for minimum wage. All staff must be registered for government tax and social benefits. Salaries must be paid regularly.
Decent Working Hours: Full-time staff salaries must be based on a 40 hour work week and staff must be paid for any overtime work accordingly. No individual staff member may work in excess of 36 overtime hours per month. All staff must be given a minimum of one rest day rest per 7 days.
Insurance: If the local government does not provide medical and health insurance, the employer must provide medical and health insurance.
No discrimination: The employer must have a no discrimination policy and this must be evident in practice.
Occupational health & safety: The employer must provide a safe and healthy working environment that complies with government OH&S standards. This also extends to emotional safety. No staff member should have a history of misconduct toward other workers.
Freedom of association and collective bargaining: Staff must be free to form a union or trade association to negotiate their own terms of employment.
No child labour: The employer must demonstrate that they forbid child labour in policy and practice.
Ethical business behaviour: The employer must demonstrate that they have established an ethics policy and that regular meetings are conducted to ensure that all staff members are being treated properly.
